BAT for Printing, Varnishing and Adhesive Coating in Germany: Study Contributing to the Revision of the Best Available Techniques Reference Document for Surface Treatment Using Organic Solvents (BREF STS) (FKZ 33714 43 312/ 5)
The aim of the project was a documentation of best available techniques in the sectors of printing (heatset web offset, flexography and rotogravure), varnishing (automotive, trailers, machinery, other metal and plastic parts) as well as other surface treatment (e.g. paper and textile coating). Ökopol compiled related information by visiting reference installations, organizing a stakeholder dialogue and researching literature. The focus was on the description of techniques and related emission data. The result served as a contribution in the European Commission’s Technical Working Group elaborating a revised reference document on best available techniques for surface treatment using organic solvents (STS BREF).
