The environmental transformation of E-Commerce: New challenges for the environmental policy promotion of sustainable consumption (FKZ: 3719 11 302 0)

In the project "Greening E-Commerce" the social drivers and ecological implications of E-commerce are analysed and approaches to achieve a more ecologial development of E-commerce are identified. Based on an in-depth analysis of the four elements of online trade: logistics, shipping packaging, consumer and waste recycling, three scenarios for possible futures of "E-Commerce" are developed. Subsequently, a roadmap for achieving a more ecological future are developed.
