Identifying the environmental, macro and micro economic impacts of the illegal dismantling of end-of-life vehicles and the illegal export of end-of-life vehicles and developing appropriate measures to address potential impacts. (FKZ: 3720 33 304 0)

The objective of this project is to quantify the environmental and economic impacts of the illegal disposal and export of end-of-life vehicles, as well as to derive appropriate, effective and efficient measures to minimize the resulting impacts. The results will serve as a data and knowledge base and inform the revision of the EC End-of-Life Vehicles Directive and its subsequent transposition into national law. Furthermore, the results will also feed into the discussion on the further development of producer responsibility and high-quality end-of-life vehicle recycling.
