Development of a new Luxembourg solvent emissions model

This project aims at developing a software model to estimate solvent emissions for Luxembourg. Emissions from solvents are a major component of total NMVOC in the Luxembourg national inventory. The annual inventory of these emissions needs to be accurate and properly understood if Luxembourg is to effectively meet its emission reduction commitments under the NECD. In an associated project, the current Luxembourg solvent emissions model, an adaptation of an Austrian model, was evaluated against other approaches, such as those in the EMEP/EEA Guidebook or the German Federal Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt; UBA) model. Recommendations from that project inform how the current Luxembourg model should be refined in this project to meet current international best practices.
