Development of an ecolabel according to ISO 14021
GEA is one of the world’s largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors. The company has committed to ambitious climate targets. In this context, GEA supports and guides its customers towards more sustainable products and solutions through an ISO 14020/21 compliant Type 2 Ecolabel ("AddBetter"). The label indicates the increased energy efficiency of the product compared to the respective predecessor model and was developed in accordance with the relevant international norms (esp. ISO 14020/21). Ökopol supported GEA in this endeavor and developed the calculation method supporting the environmental claim. The calculation methodology was reviewed and confirmed by TÜV-Rheinland.
